Suns take command of BDHL with 8-5, 4-2 Vail sweep

The Sun Valley Suns senior men’s hockey team spent about 22 hours in the bus last weekend so they could climb into the driver’s seat of the Black Diamond Hockey League.

In front of over 2,000 spectators over two nights at hostile Dobson Arena, coach John Burke’s Suns took command of the BDHL regular-season race with an 8-5 and 4-2 sweep of the host Vail (Co.) Yeti.

The Suns (7-3, 6-2 BDHL) won for the fourth time in five games and need only to split the remaining league series at Bozeman (Mt.) Stingers Jan. 26-27 to clinch the top seed in the four-team BDHL tourney set for March 9-10 in Hailey. Read More…
