Suns bounce back from 5-3 loss, split BDHL series at Jackson Hole

Sun Valley Suns head of security Brian Hamel will wear the coveted “George Jacket” the week after Christmas because of his “above-and-beyond” help for the Suns last weekend. Hamel volunteered to make a special, unplanned trip to Jackson Hole on Saturday carrying sticks and skates that were either left behind in Hailey, or delayed on a plane.

Second-year Sun Valley Suns goaltender Matt Cooper from Duluth, Minn. picked a great time to post his first-ever shutout in the net for the Suns.

Cooper made 41 saves leading the Suns to an 8-0 Black Diamond Hockey League victory over the host Jackson Hole (Wyo.) Moose on Saturday night at Snow King Center.

First-year forward Chad O’Brien scored two goals in each game at Jackson Hole, and six other Suns added goals in Saturday’s blowout that handed the Moose their first home loss and quieted the crowd. READ MORE
